GoSatWatch Satellite Tracking App Reviews

60 add

Good App.

May sugestion: add satelites at the Moon, Mars and other planets.

Iss views

Predicts ISS passes nicely.

Very Cool

A very nice app that makes night sky watching entertaining. Its simple to use and impresses people that I show it too, even the non-geeky ones. GoSatWatch is a great companion piece to GoSkyWatch.

ISS and Hubble telescope over my house

I live in Canada near Niagara Falls. I was also semi believing that I would see the ISS rise on time over the horizon. And just as predicted here it was. I could not believe it. Ran inside to get my wife. Way too cool. Worth every penny. And it is lots of fun. I have since seen the Hubble space telescope and other satellites. It is worth mentionning that the interface is also pretty easy to use.

Incomplete listing

I love this app but needs more complete satellite list to obtain 5 stars. Please update soon.

Perfect

This update makes it a 5 stars,

Amazingly Accurate

I tried numerous other satellite locators that were good. This app beats them hands down. Like comparing a Ford Pinto to a new Ferrari. The accuracy is remarkable. This, and the developers GoSkyWatch are my two favorite apps. Note to the developer, I would pay the big bucks if you could hook up voice commands through a Bluetooth . That is on my wish list, but so is world peace . You did a great job on both these apps

Amazing! Sooo Good!!

This app just made my evening. A couple of good friends and I, with jazz cigarettes in hand, we were able to spot many flybys. This app worked perfectly, couldnt have asked for a better, more well functioning app.

Latest update is seriously messed up

The new version 4.0 implements a more modern UI. A time zone bug was inadvertently introduced which may affect users that select a time zone that is somewhat different from the viewing location. But in fairness, this will not affect 99% of users. The publisher is already investigating the bug and I am confident it will be fixed in the next update. This is, IMO, the best satellite tracking app available for the iOS platform.

A must have!

For anyone with strong passion for space flight and iss and shuttle tracking! Marvelous!

Good program, would be great if:

(1) Notifications had more control, for example the ability to add to calendar / reminders with entry automatically grabbing time of pass. (2) notification had the ability to send SMS or other notification that doesnt disappear (3) notification could send multiple reminders such as at T minus 10 mins. Then 5 minutes, then at time of pass. (4) the program doesnt continuously require the compass to calibrate.

New release has a problem..

Folks better look at the notifications part. I looked at the app, looked at some passes and closed the app. Next day starting at about 4am I began to not get one but many alarms. I had to bring up the app, turn off all notifications, shut down the phone. Then went back to sleep. Please fix this.

Updated version is fantastic

Its been a long wait, but this updated version has eliminated old issues and added a number of new, informative features and improvements. To my knowledge, this is the most capable and well-designed satellite tracking app available. Over the past few years, this app has helped me view and photograph hundreds of satellite passes (ISS, Chinese space station, manned & unmanned spacecraft, Hubble telescope, etc.) and Iridium flares from a multitude of geographical locations. Its also a fantastic tool for visualizing and understanding all types of satellite orbits. This is an unbelievably handy app. [It sounds like the user who claimed to have an issue with notifications may have just needed to change their settings within the app :) Ive experienced no problems thus far. Im using an iPhone 5S]

Problem after last update

The latest update stays stuck on "CALCULATING" and wont give me any passes. I laid my phone down and walked away for 10 minutes and still no data. The sister app GoISSWatch is similarly setup and I love it.

FABULOUS!

This is the update I was hoping for when I bought the iPhone-only app for my iPad...an absolutely awesome app, and a must-have for any iPad-owning space fanatic. Worth every penny...

Developers: CRASH BUG latest update!

I installed the latest update last night, started it up and enjoyed new features one time. Now every time I start the app, it crashes every time. I removed the app from memory and tried again. Crash. Why it would run once and then fail is mysterious behavior unless it was conflicting with other programs in memory... So... I emptied memory completely and tried it and again it crashed. Please look into this... UPDATE: restarted iPhone and ran this app first over all else and it STILL crashes immediately 100% of the time without exception. -marc

Great App!

Provides a great view, scrolls through time (backward and forward) with ease and has a clean user interface. Only suggestion for improvement would be making it easier to figure out how to add new satellites (turns out go to their website and its near the bottom of the Users Guide).

Great App!!

An awesome job. GoSatWatch on my iPad is just fantastic. Best money I have spent at the App Store! You will not be disappointed....

Awesome satellite tracker!

I originally had a bit of trouble seeing the ISS on the map, but after selecting it from the satellite list and touching "refresh" a couple of times, the ISS became visible on the map, in the passes, and on the sky map. What a pleasant experience it was to figure out that when the Space Station passes overhead around an hour after sunset on a clear evening, it will be visible from reflected sunlight, then to go outside when this application had shown this circustance to occur, and to watch the Space Station pass overhead, exactly as predicted! Im Addicted! WOW!!!

Great update!

Finally we got push notifications! Ive been wanting this feature for awhile now. I also really like the auto updates feature, although updating everytime I open the app is too frequent as I have to wait for the pass data to recalculate each time. Id much prefer it auto update on opening only if the satellite data was over 24 hours old. Not a big deal. Perhaps the developer will consider my request for the next version. Overall some really nice improvements to the app. The web based online User Guide needs to be updated to reflect these nice new features.
